Jane H. Nunn

Jane Nunn (Walde) was born on October 6, 1936 in Ponsford, MN and passed into the loving arms of our Lord Jesus Christ on July 26, 2018 in her home in Park Rapids with her family by her side. She was born to Henry and Minnie (Moltzan) Walde on the Ponsford prairie. She grew up in Ponsford and Osage and graduated from Park Rapids High School in 1954. On September 21, 1957, she married Richard Nunn in Park Rapids. They moved to Minneapolis where their union was blessed with three children; Julie, Jill and Jenny. During their working years in Minneapolis, Jane was a devout Christian and messenger for the Lord. She and Dick were members of Grace Evangelical Free Church in Fridley where she was known for her spiritual outreach. For many years, was a speaker for Christian Women’s Club, travelling throughout the upper Midwest. For more than 10 years, she was also actively involved in witnessing door-to-door for Evangelism Explosion in Minneapolis. Following her involvement in those organizations, she started and led home Bible Studies for Native Americans in North Minneapolis. Upon her and Dick’s retirement and return to Park Rapids in 1990, she taught release time at Faithbridge Church. Together, she and Dick also taught Vacation Bible School for Native Americans in Ponsford, White Earth and Elbow Lake for several years. She will be lovingly remembered for her genuine love, care and concern for anyone she met. Jane was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Minnie, and many aunts, uncles and cousins. She is survived by her husband Dick, daughters Julie (Mike) Larson, Jill (Rob) Burton and Jenny (Sheldon) Reist. Eight grandchildren: Sara Nelson, Toni Larson, Jenna (Jesse) Larson, Levi (Annie) Burton, Libby Burton, Anna (Matt) Smith, Leah Reist and Joy Reist and six great-granchildren: Emily, Rob, Jack, Will, Jett and Jane. Her brother Larry (Paula) Walde and their family, as well as several cousins. Casket Bearers will be her grandchildren. Honorary Casket Bearers will be the High School Class of 1954, whom she stayed in close contact with all of these years. Visitation will be at Jones-Pearson Funeral Home in Park Rapids on Wednesday, August 1st from 5 PM to 8 PM and one hour prior to the funeral. The funeral will be at Faithbridge Church in Park Rapids on Thursday, August 2nd at 11 AM. Luncheon will follow in the Faithbridge Fellowship Hall. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Park Rapids following the luncheon. The family would like to thank Dr. Leadbetter as well as CHI St. Joseph’s Hospice staff for their comfort and care.
